Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor Med-Surg patients, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best outcomes
• Perform thorough and timely documentation in the patient chart
• Provide patient and family education with empathy and clarity
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and safe patient transfers
• Maintain unit safety standards and infection control practices
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and communicating proactively

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements apply)
• Minimum of 1 year of Med-Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• Strong clinical assessment, IV and medication administration skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and collaborate in a fast-paced environment
• Professional attitude, strong communication skills, and patient-focused care

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Med-Surg clinical knowledge and bedside nursing skills
• Proficient in medication administration and IV therapy
• Solid assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient/family education skills
