Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to medical/surgical and critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators, multiple IV pumps, arterial lines (A-lines), central lines, and chest tubes
Assess patients continuously and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision to ensure safe, high-quality care
Serve as a clinical leader on the unit: guide and direct RNs, LPNs, CNAs and support staff during your shift
Precept and mentor staff, contributing to clinical skill development and strong team performance
Coordinate care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning and interdisciplinary communication

Qualifications

Current Montana RN licensure required
BLS and ACLS required
PALS, ENPC, TNCC certifications preferred
Practice experience in an advanced medical/surgical unit with recent critical care experience required
Ability to operate advanced monitoring and life support equipment and manage invasive lines and ventilatory support

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Degree from a Nursing Program required)

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced patient assessment and clinical decision-making
Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
Arterial line (A-line) and central line management
IV pump operation and multiple IV management
Chest tube care and monitoring
ACLS and BLS protocols
Clinical leadership and precepting skills
Comfort using basic office and clinical computer equipment
