Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and set up surgical instruments for a wide variety of procedures
• Assist surgeons and scrub team during cases, anticipating needs and ensuring efficiency
• Accurately document intraoperative care in Meditech EMR as required
• Support complex procedures including neuro, vascular and advanced endoscopic cases
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide reliable holiday coverage when scheduled
• Collaborate with circulating nurses, anesthesia techs and other team members to optimize patient flow and safety
• Ensure proper handling, tracking and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or OR Technician (ORT) preferred/required
• BLS certification (required)
• Meditech experience (must-have)
• Minimum 1 year OR/CST experience (as stated)
• Neuro, ECRP, or vascular experience strongly preferred
• Flexible team player comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Willingness to participate in on-call and holiday coverage

Education

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or OR Technician (ORT)
• BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR instrumentation
• Experience with Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
• Comfort with a wide variety of surgical procedures (general, neuro, vascular, endo)
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work proactively in the OR
• Clear communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary surgical teams
• Ability to adapt to changing case volumes and schedule needs
