Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
• Perform peripheral IV starts, wound dressing changes, and other standard med-surg procedures
• Document care and interventions clearly in Cerner PowerChart to ensure continuity
• Collaborate with charge nurses, RNs, PCTs and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Assist with unit flow and patient assignments, stepping in to help teammates when needed
• Float to other medical-surgical areas and ED holding as required to meet patient needs

Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license (state-appropriate) in good standing
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience, with medical-surgical and telemetry experience preferred
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, IV starts, wound care and med-surg routines
• Experience with Cerner PowerChart or similar EMR systems preferred
• Ability to work rotating schedules including weekends; team-player attitude
• Charge nurse experience is a plus and will be considered favorably

Education

• Completion of an accredited LPN/LVN program (vocational/technical nursing)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Solid medical-surgical nursing fundamentals and clinical assessment
• Proficient with peripheral IV starts and wound dressing changes
• Experience using Cerner PowerChart for documentation and med administration
• Excellent communication, teamwork and time-management abilities
• Adaptability to float between units and handle variable patient ratios
