Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify patient strengths and needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence
• Deliver evidence-based OT interventions and adapt techniques to each patient
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic care
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies, home programs, and adaptive equipment
• Document progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care
• Measure outcomes and adjust treatment plans to maximize patient progress
• Advocate for patient safety, mobility, and quality of life throughout the care journey

Qualifications

• License as an Occupational Therapist in Michigan, or eligibility to obtain Michigan licensure
• Degree in Occupational Therapy (BS/BSOT, MSOT, or OTD)
• Current basic life support certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
• Reliable professional communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable with documentation systems used by the facility

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, or OTD

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic activity planning and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Knowledge of functional mobility, ADL training, and patient-centered intervention
• Ability to perform thorough evaluations and translate findings into actionable plans
• Familiarity with documentation standards and regulatory requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and care teams
