Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, monitoring hemodynamics and responding rapidly to changes
• Manage and care for central lines and arterial lines, maintaining sterile technique and accurate documentation
• Perform or assist with advanced procedures such as intubation and post-procedure patient management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapists and support staff—to create and execute patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, treatments and progress clearly in the EMR (Meditech) to ensure continuity of care
• Educate and support patients and families during stressful critical care situations with compassion and clarity
• Adhere to unit policies and safety protocols to maintain a reliable, team-focused ICU environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for practice in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Experience with central line and arterial line management, and intubation skills
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is preferred
• Comfort working nights and meeting the requirement to work multiple weekends per schedule period
• Team player with strong clinical judgment, accountability and excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and monitoring
• Ventilator management fundamentals and collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Central line and arterial line care and troubleshooting
• Airway management support including intubation assistance
• Proficient EMR documentation (Meditech preferred)
• Strong prioritization, multitasking and crisis resource management
• Compassionate patient and family communication
