Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess telemetry patients closely, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Provide progressive care to medical-surgical and step-down patients with skill and compassion
• Use Cerner EMR to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately
• Manage quick-turnover and short-stay patients efficiently while maintaining high-quality care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, timely discharges and transitions
• Maintain patient ratios and prioritize care based on acuity to ensure patient safety
• Serve as a professional, patient-focused advocate and deliver excellent patient/family education

Qualifications

• Current RN license (eligible to work in North Carolina or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2+ years progressive care/telemetry experience
• Telemetry competency and comfort with bedside hardwired monitoring
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Ability and willingness to float to other units as needed and work every-other-weekend rotations

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN preferred)

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Progressive care and step-down patient management
• Medical-surgical nursing fundamentals and quick patient turnover workflows
• Proficient Cerner EMR documentation
• Strong clinical judgment, triage, and prioritization skills
• Team collaboration, communication, and patient-focused bedside manner
