Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care for BMT and oncology patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect changes early and act decisively
• Administer chemotherapy safely and competently following ONS and facility protocols
• Perform thorough assessments, document care in Meditech, and communicate findings during bedside shift report
• Manage simple drip titrations and medication infusions while maintaining patient safety
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate complex transplant care and discharge planning
• Participate in safety rounds and uphold the unit’s patient experience initiatives such as No Pass Zone

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to hold or obtain TX licensure required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical nursing experience (BMT, oncology or PCU level of care required/preferred)
• BLS and ACLS required
• ONS chemo certification preferred or demonstrated chemotherapy competency
• Comfortable reading telemetry and managing simple drip titrations
• Strong assessment skills and experience with Meditech or similar electronic documentation

Knowledge & Skills

• Bone Marrow Transplant patient care and transplant-specific procedures (infrequent BM biopsies)
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Chemotherapy administration and oncology medication safety practices
• Meditech documentation and electronic charting proficiency
• Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Team communication, bedside shift report and patient experience best practices
