Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care to ICU patients, managing complex post-operative and cardiac cases
• Operate and manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support for ventilated patients
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and titrate vasoactive medications under physician guidance
• Deliver post-CABG and cardiac surgical care, supporting rapid recovery and safety
• Participate in ECMO management and care for high-acuity patients as needed
• Collaborate closely with intensivists, CVOR teams and multidisciplinary staff to optimize outcomes
• Document thoroughly in Meditech and lead bedside shift report with clear updates to the whiteboard
• Uphold unit standards for patient experience, professionalism and infection control

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required - temporary licenses will not be accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, CVICU or cardiac ICU experience strongly preferred
• Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and post-operative cardiac care
• ECMO experience preferred or comfort working on a very high-acuity unit
• Ability to document accurately in Meditech and perform bedside shift reporting

• Hands-on ventilator management and respiratory therapy collaboration

• Cardiac/post-operative care including post-CABG and transplant patient support
• ECMO fundamentals and high-acuity critical care practices
• Proficient Meditech documentation and clear clinical communication
• Strong bedside assessment, critical thinking and teamwork skills
