Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation and provide expert ventilator management to critically ill patients
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide respiratory interventions
• Provide airway management including trach care and airway clearance therapies
• Deliver high-flow oxygen therapy and bronchodilator treatments to stabilize patients
• Assist with intubations and respond decisively during code blue events
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and manage safe patient transports
• Document assessments and interventions accurately using Meditech
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute patient-centered respiratory plans

Qualifications

• RRT or CRT certification required
• BLS and ACLS required, PALS preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (as listed)
• One year of ICU experience preferred
• Proficiency with ventilator equipment commonly used on the unit, including Drager and Philips V60

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• ABG analysis and interpretation
• Airway management, trach care, and intubation assist
• High-flow oxygen therapy, Vapotherm, and bronchodilator therapy
• Airway clearance techniques and Metaneb experience
• Patient assessment, transport, and code blue response
• Meditech documentation and strong clinical documentation skills
• Comfort working in a high-acuity hospital environment
