Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate patient care on the telemetry unit, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly report changes in patient status
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining patient safety
• Accurately document patient care and observations in Cerner
• Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate excellent care
• Follow infection control, safety protocols and hospital policies at all times
• Be prepared to float to other units as the First to Float when staffing needs arise

Qualifications

• Valid California CNA license (required)
• BLS (AHA) certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent CNA experience, with at least one year in an acute care hospital setting
• Willingness to complete 12 hours of orientation
• Comfortable working on a telemetry unit and charting in Cerner
• Able to work 12-hour day shifts and float as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and recognition of rhythm changes
• Proficient in taking vitals and performing focused patient assessments
• Experience with electronic charting systems (Cerner)
• Safe patient handling and assistance with ADLs
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
• Knowledge of infection control and acute care practices
