Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide integrated, holistic nursing care to Med-Surg adult patients, focusing on safety and quality
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop nursing plans that reflect priority health needs
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless transitions
• Educate and engage patients and families to promote understanding and adherence to care plans
• Practice in accordance with Montana and national Nurse Practice Acts, maintaining professional standards
• Utilize BLS and ACLS skills to respond effectively to emergencies on the unit
• Document patient care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current, active Montana RN license (required)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing (preferred)
• Comfort caring for primarily adult patients with rare/occasional pediatric patients
• Ability to work night shifts and function well in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical judgment for Med-Surg patient populations
• Care coordination and interdisciplinary communication
• Patient and family education with a focus on holistic nursing
• Adherence to Nurse Practice Act and professional nursing standards
• Clinical nursing practice including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring
• Basic pediatric care knowledge for occasional pediatric patients
