Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfer assistance using proper body mechanics
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Help create a comforting environment that promotes residents' well-being and independence

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent credential
• Comfortable working with older adults and skilled in person-centered care
• Basic life support/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (immunizations)
• Reliable, punctual, with a professional attitude and strong teamwork skills
• Prior experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but new grads welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA/Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident and family interactions
• Basic infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Ability to follow care plans and accurately record observations
• Good time management and prioritization during busy shifts
• Safe transfer and lifting techniques to protect residents and staff
