Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to geriatric residents, helping them feel safe and respected
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
• Monitor and document resident conditions, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support mobility and safe transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Contribute to a peaceful, comfortable environment by responding to resident needs and requests
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent state nursing assistant credential
• Active CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
• Previous experience in geriatric, long-term, or skilled nursing care preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working night shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Familiarity with charting and documentation best practices
• Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to recognize and report changes in resident status
• Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
