Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem nights, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, mobility, and feeding
Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
Support safe transfers and fall prevention practices during night shift hours
Collaborate with the care team to ensure each resident’s individualized care plan is followed

Qualifications

Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care settings is a plus
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach to care

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic elder care practices and activities of daily living
Skill in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observations
Good documentation habits and attention to detail
Ability to work independently during night shifts and escalate concerns appropriately
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with residents and families
