Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Support residents with meals and hydration while observing dietary needs
- Monitor and document changes in residents' conditions and report concerns
- Collaborate with RNs and the care team to follow care plans and meet goals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and families
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification required
- Previous experience in geriatric, long-term, or assisted living care preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass facility-required background and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of common geriatric care needs and best practices
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective communication with residents and families
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
