Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Perform routine vital signs and report changes in patient condition to the nurse
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and dignity
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- State-required background check and immunizations as applicable
- Comfortable working evenings and adapting to per diem scheduling
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings preferred but new grads welcome
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient personal care and ADL assistance
- Basic vital signs collection and observation skills
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Documentation skills and basic charting familiarity
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
