Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care throughout the overnight shift
- Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing and responding to changes quickly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the chart
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Support patients and families with education, comfort, and clear communication
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe care environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure appropriate for practice (state licensure or compact RN where applicable)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience in inpatient nursing or similar clinical settings preferred
- Comfort working independently during overnight shifts and escalating concerns appropriately
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and critical thinking for overnight patient care
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Patient and family education skills delivered with empathy
- Prioritization and time management during high-acuity periods
- Infection prevention and safety procedures
