Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients promptly and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care
- Document patient care and progress clearly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families to support recovery and discharge planning
- Advocate for patient safety, infection control, and best practices
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license (RN) — New Mexico licensure required or eligible
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Current clinical experience in acute care, med-surg, or similar settings
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently on night shifts and collaborate with a team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
- Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
- Familiarity with monitoring equipment and post-op/acute care protocols
- Excellent communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Time management and triage skills for high-acuity environments
