Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate for GI cases in the afternoon and provide safe, expert circulating for IR and procedural sedation in the morning
• Manage airways and monitor patients during procedural sedation (procedural sedation certification required/provided during orientation)
• Collaborate with the perioperative charge nurse and multidisciplinary team to keep two suites running smoothly
• Float to related units (GI, IR, ICU, ER) when case volume requires—bringing your adaptable clinical skills to where they matter most
• Perform scope cleaning or train to do so for weekend call coverage when needed
• Support efficient case flow by assisting with instruments and scrub tasks as appropriate

Qualifications

• Active RN license (license required to submit candidate)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS certifications (must have or obtain)
• Procedural Sedation certification required to manage airways (can be obtained during orientation/hiring window)
• Minimum clinical experience: at least 1 year (note: 2 years referenced in posting as experience level)
• If IR-focused only: minimum 1 year of IR, ICU, or ER experience
• Strongly preferred: prior GI teching experience or demonstrated ability to tech for GI cases

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN acceptable)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in GI nursing and IR nursing practices
• Experience circulating in procedural settings and managing sedation
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
• Ability to assist with instrument handling and scope cleaning procedures
• Comfort working in a small, fast-paced department and collaborating with permanent staff and interventionalists
