Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement individualized occupational therapy interventions under the supervising OT to help patients regain independence
• Assist in developing, carrying out, and adapting treatment plans and therapeutic activities
• Document patient progress thoroughly and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, equipment use, and home safety
• Collaborate with OTs, PTs, nurses, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and ensure proper use and upkeep of equipment
• Support discharge planning with practical recommendations and community resource referrals

Qualifications

• Current COTA credential (required)
• Active or eligible for California state registration/licensure as required
• Comfortable working day shifts including weekend coverage as scheduled
• Strong clinical documentation and patient communication skills
• Previous experience in inpatient, rehab, or contract settings preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
• Completion of any state-required certification/licensure processes for COTA practice

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of therapeutic techniques for activities of daily living and adaptive equipment
• Skill in patient assessment, progress measurement, and treatment documentation
• Strong verbal and written communication for patient education and team collaboration
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced interdisciplinary environment
• Familiarity with electronic health records and regulatory compliance
