Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality telemetry nursing care to PCU patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and promptly respond to arrhythmias or changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely while accurately documenting care in Cerner
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop nursing interventions
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teammates
• Prepare patients for procedures such as Endoscopy, IR, and OR when needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge needs
• Support unit operations and step in as charge or team lead when appropriate

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of North Carolina or valid compact license
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience, with telemetry or med-surg experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with medical telemetry monitoring and VC150 equipment
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
• BSN preferred; CMSRN encouraged
• Ability to work nights, float to sister units, and commit to weekend sign-ups

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
• Proficiency with Cerner Patient Observation and electronic charting
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients and care teams
• Teamwork and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
• Leadership and charge nurse skills are a plus
• Comfort preparing patients for procedural areas like Endoscopy, IR, and OR
