Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, patient-centered nursing care to Progressive Care Unit Neurosciences patients
• Perform skilled procedures such as IV starts and Foley insertions safely and confidently
• Monitor neurological status and telemetry, recognizing changes and escalating appropriately
• Document patient care clearly and accurately in Cerner
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Support unit policies and help create a positive environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical nursing experience (per job posting)
• Required certifications: ACLS and NIH
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit, med-surgical or neuro settings preferred
• Proven competency with IV starts and Foley insertion
• Familiarity using Cerner or similar EMR systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for neuro and progressive care patients, including NIH stroke scale knowledge
• ACLS-certified critical care skills
• IV therapy and Foley catheter skills
• Comfortable with standard med-surgical equipment and telemetry monitoring
• Good clinical documentation skills in Cerner
• Excellent communication, teamwork and time management
