Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Deliver high-quality clinical care including medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate timely transfers when needed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to drive efficient patient flow
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the chart
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up needs
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes
• Maintain a calm, professional presence in a fast-paced emergency environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license—California RN license required or ability to obtain prior to start
• Emergency Room (ER) experience; prior night-shift experience preferred
• Comfort with 12-hour shifts and the demands of night work
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Strong critical thinking, triage, and patient assessment skills
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment best practices
• IV insertion, medication administration, and wound management
• Familiarity with common ER procedures and protocols
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Basic understanding of infection control and patient safety principles
