Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders to improve patient outcomes
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals
- Monitor patient progress closely and adjust therapy plans as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation to support clinical continuity and compliance
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Active California SLP license (required) — must be current and in good standing
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current BLS certification
- SNF experience preferred (experience with skilled nursing residents a plus)
- Strong clinical reasoning and excellent communication skills with patients and team members
Education
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in evaluation and treatment of dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders
- Proficient with clinical documentation and care planning in SNF settings
- Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
- Strong patient-centered care approach and adaptability to varied caseloads
- Competent in educating patients, families, and staff about therapy goals and strategies
