Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective perioperative nursing care in the operating room as a scrub or circulating nurse
• Assist with PACU Phase I recovery when patients need immediate post-anesthesia care
• Collaborate and communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthetists, and the perioperative team to optimize patient outcomes
• Deliver patient-family centered care, ensuring patients and families feel informed and supported
• Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values
• Respond promptly to call coverage requests and be ready to support urgent surgical needs within the 45-minute window
• Support multiple surgical specialties as needed, including general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, podiatry, OB-GYN, pain management, urology, and endoscopy

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — OR role (current, active license required according to facility policy)
• Experience in a critical access hospital OR preferred
• Comfortable and experienced in scrubbing, circulating, and PACU Phase I recovery
• CNOR preferred
• Ability to respond to call coverage within 45 minutes
• Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-family centered care
• High level of professional confidentiality and teamwork

• Infection control and sterile technique
