Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot ventilators including Draeger and Hamilton T1 models
- Initiate and manage high flow nasal cannula therapies (F&P Classic, Airvo 3)
- Operate and titrate Philips V60 and BPAP/CPAP devices to meet patient needs
- Assess respiratory status, perform treatments, and evaluate patient response
- Provide emergency respiratory interventions and participate in codes as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and safe home device use when appropriate
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of current RRT experience required
- Active New Hampshire state respiratory license required (Compact allowed)
- Active American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- NRP preferred
- One supervisory signed reference from the past year required
- Complete license verification and required documentation at time of submission
- Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility (no local candidates)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate or Bachelor degree preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with Draeger and Hamilton T1 ventilators
- Familiarity with high flow nasal cannula systems such as F&P Classic and Airvo 3
- Experience with Philips V60 and BPAP/CPAP therapy
- Basic knowledge of ResMed AirSense/AirCurve home units preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in acute settings
- Clear, concise documentation and good electronic charting habits
- Team-oriented communication and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort responding to codes and performing critical interventions
