Shift Type: 4 on / 3 off block schedule — Day 3x12-hour shifts, 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM (Day shift); typically three 12-hour day shifts per week with every-other-weekend coverage

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy safely and accurately, including continuous infusions and oral chemotherapy per protocol
- Manage central lines, ports and PICC lines — access, maintenance, and blood draws
- Monitor and administer blood and blood products with careful assessment and documentation
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis)
- Provide patient- and family-centered education and psychosocial support throughout the care journey
- Use Epic to document care, coordinate orders, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team
- Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and PCA devices while maintaining safety standards
- Perform phlebotomy, wound care, IV therapy and other skilled procedures with attention to infection control
- Collaborate with pharmacy, RRT, PT/OT, social services and other partners to optimize complex care plans
- Maintain neutropenic precautions and manage symptom control to improve patient comfort and outcomes
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years pediatric oncology or inpatient oncology experience (required)
- AHA BLS and PALS (required)
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) and APHON certification preferred
- Epic experience preferred (note: Epic preferred 2 years)
- Comfort managing roughly a 1:4 patient ratio on days
- Ability to work a 12-hour day block schedule and cover every-other-weekend rotations
- Compliance with facility vaccine policy (COVID-19 vaccine + booster required; medical/religious exemptions only)
Knowledge & Skills
- Chemotherapy administration, oral and IV, and cytotoxic spill management
- IV therapy, infusion pump management, PCA pump and IV push narcotic administration
- Central line/port care, PICC line maintenance and central line blood draw
- Blood & blood product administration and monitoring
- Recognition and management of oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis)
- Phlebotomy, wound care, and post-surgical oncology care
- Neutropenic precautions, infection control and PPE use
- Symptom management (nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, mucositis, pain management)
- Epic charting and electronic documentation skills
- Patient/family education and strong communication skills
