Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on a 24-bed Oncology/Women's Surgical unit
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other treatments safely and according to protocol
• Assess patients regularly and intervene to manage symptoms and complications
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including physicians, CNAs and unit coordinators to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning with clarity and empathy
• Participate in unit initiatives, safety practices and quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as listed in the role)
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemo certification preferred and will be considered a strong asset
• Comfort working with med-surg and oncology patient populations and standard unit equipment

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven experience with Cerner EMR for documentation and medication administration
• Ability to manage patient ratios of approximately 1:4 to 1:5 while delivering quality care
• Familiarity with oncology procedures and occasional pelvic exams, echo and thoracentesis
• Strong teamwork, communication and prioritization skills in a fast-paced unit
• Detail-oriented medication administration and safe chemotherapy handling practices
