Shift Type: Rotating schedule; Day shift 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM. Includes weekends (staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule); rare on-call.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on a 24-bed Oncology/Women's Surgical unit
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other treatments safely and according to protocol
- Assess patients regularly and intervene to manage symptoms and complications
- Document care thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to ensure continuity and quality
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including physicians, CNAs and unit coordinators to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning with clarity and empathy
- Participate in unit initiatives, safety practices and quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as listed in the role)
- BLS certification (required)
- Chemo certification preferred and will be considered a strong asset
- Comfort working with med-surg and oncology patient populations and standard unit equipment
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience with Cerner EMR for documentation and medication administration
- Ability to manage patient ratios of approximately 1:4 to 1:5 while delivering quality care
- Familiarity with oncology procedures and occasional pelvic exams, echo and thoracentesis
- Strong teamwork, communication and prioritization skills in a fast-paced unit
- Detail-oriented medication administration and safe chemotherapy handling practices
