Shift Type: Rotating nights including weekends, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (overnight/night shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality oncology nursing care to surgical and medical oncology patients
- Administer treatments and medications safely, following protocols and best practices
- Perform focused assessments and monitor changes in patient condition overnight
- Document patient care and clinical changes accurately in Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
- Support procedures performed on unit such as thoracentesis and echo, and assist when pelvic exams are needed
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and self-care plans
- Contribute to unit teamwork and help maintain a positive, supportive environment
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state of NC or compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (oncology experience preferred)
- Current BLS certification required
- Chemo certification preferred but not required — candidates with chemo experience encouraged to apply
- Comfort with overnight nursing and ability to work scheduled weekends
- Clinical competency with med-surg/oncology patient care and common unit procedures
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience working in oncology or women's surgical settings
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and order management
- Strong patient assessment, critical thinking and triage skills
- Ability to perform/support procedures like thoracentesis and echo
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced unit
- Comfort managing typical oncology patient ratios (approximately 1:4–1:5)
