Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans that reflect patient goals and functional needs
• Deliver high-quality therapy sessions and adjust approaches based on progress
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy colleagues, physicians, and families to coordinate care
• Document evaluations, plans, and progress notes thoroughly and on time
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to maximize communication and safety
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support patient-centered discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active or eligible California SLP license (state licensure required for practice in CA)
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent (see education)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred (if applicable) or equivalent clinical credentialing
• Experience providing adult/rehabilitation speech-language services preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility (if applicable)
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with rehab clinical standards

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent graduate degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in comprehensive SLP evaluations and individualized treatment planning
• Experience with dysphagia management and safe swallowing techniques
• Knowledge of cognitive-communication and AAC strategies
• Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary rehab team
• Strong interpersonal and family-education skills
• Comfortable with timely clinical documentation and outcome tracking
