Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living—help residents feel safe, comfortable, and respected
• Monitor and record vital signs, behavior changes, and any concerns, reporting promptly to the nursing team
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Deliver personal care with dignity—bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal support
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to implement individualized care plans
• Uphold infection control practices and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (current and in good standing) — must meet state requirements
• Previous experience as a CNA preferred; ready to jump in and deliver quality resident care
• Comfortable working night shifts and collaborating with a diverse care team
• Strong communication skills, compassion, and patience with older adults
• Willingness to complete facility-specific orientation and required training

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Ability to take and record vital signs and observe changes in condition
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team
• Time management, adaptability, and attention to detail in a busy care setting
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety best practices
