Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility with dignity and compassion
- Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Provide attentive, hands-on care while maintaining a safe and clean environment
- Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
- Support admissions, discharges and transfers to ensure smooth transitions
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
- Observe and report behavioral or clinical changes to help the care team respond quickly
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state registry preferred)
- CNA experience in long-term care or related settings is a strong plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Proof of required immunizations and ability to pass facility background checks
- Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and comfortable assisting with ADLs
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families and the care team
- Time management, teamwork, and the ability to follow care plans
- Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn facility systems
