Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct neonatal patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Monitor hemodynamic status and communicate clinical changes to the medical team promptly
• Administer treatments and medications safely and accurately while documenting in the medical record
• Educate and support families, guiding them through procedures, care plans and discharge teaching
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of neonatal care
• Float to units of competency as needed while maintaining safe patient care and unit standards
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

• Current and valid State RN License
• BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
• ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
• NRP required
• Minimum 1 year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care or NICU experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal critical care and developmentally supportive care
• Patient assessment and direct patient care in NICU/ICU settings
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of diagnostic data
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation for neonatal patients
• Patient and family education with sensitive communication skills
• Familiarity with Epic EMR, DCI/BVP, and unit-specific competency checklists
