Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the nursing process to create individualized care plans
• Provide direct patient care on the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit with compassion and clinical skill
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Communicate effectively with physicians and the care team about patient status and diagnostic results
• Implement and evaluate interventions, adjusting care based on patient response
• Teach patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery
• Delegate and guide nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care
• Document care accurately and timely in the medical record to ensure continuity and safety

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure with Nursys verification (or ability to verify via Nursys)
• Minimum 1 year of acute patient care experience (Med/Surg or Telemetry preferred)
• Current BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Completion of Prime onboarding requirements: Basic Pharmacology, Core Competencies, Skills Checklist, Specialty Exam
• Ability to pass required health screening: drug screen, fit test, TB testing, and listed vaccinations or acceptable titers
• Strong clinical judgment, reliable communication skills, and a team-oriented approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing and telemetry monitoring
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• Proficient in nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Skilled at patient and family education and discharge planning
• Clear, professional communication with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with technology and accurate clinical documentation
• Infection control practices and workplace safety compliance
