Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Deliver direct medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to assigned patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and communicate changes in clinical condition to the care team
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately in the medical record
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following hospital policies and best practices
• Teach and coach patients and families to support recovery and self-care
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Respond quickly and effectively to patient condition changes and emergency situations

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license (required)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) (required)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) (required)
• Minimum 1 year of prior acute care hospital experience (required)
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Willingness/ability to float to units of competency as needed
• Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks (drug screen, TB, immunizations, fit test)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Solid medical-surgical nursing knowledge and nursing process application
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems
• Medication administration and safe practice knowledge
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills
• Competency with core nursing skills and specialty med-surg tasks
