Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living to promote dignity and independence
• Provide basic nursing care for non-critical patients under RN supervision
• Support the telemetry team by performing monitoring tasks and reporting changes
• Help maintain a safe, clean environment to protect patients and staff
• Communicate clearly with the RN and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care, observations, and routine tasks accurately and promptly
• Actively participate in competency checks and skill validations to ensure quality

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate required upon hire
• Current BLS (AHA) required upon hire and must be maintained
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate required within 6 months if facility mandates it
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred
• Ability to pass required onboarding items: drug screen, immunizations/vaccine checks, fit test, and verification of license/certification
• Willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam

Education

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong familiarity with activities of daily living (ADL) assistance
• Comfort providing basic nursing care and supporting patient safety
• Telemetry department skills including monitor observation and reporting
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Skill in assisting and communicating with Registered Nurses and care team
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
