Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients in acute care to develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, and function
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Document patient status, progress, and discharge plans accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on safety, home exercise programs, and discharge precautions
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
• Participate in competency checks such as the Prime Skills Checklist and required testing

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist license (California) — license/certificate verification required
• Recent acute care experience (per posting: strong preference for clinicians with recent acute exposure)
• BLS certification (required)
• DCI/BVP certification (required)
• Completion of Prime Skills Checklist and successful drug/tox/fit testing per facility policy
• Up-to-date immunizations and screenings as listed (COVID-19, MMR, TB testing, Hep B, Tdap, Varicella, Influenza, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical reasoning in an acute care setting
• Skilled in mobility training, transfers, gait training, and fall risk mitigation
• Proficient documentation and charting for acute care workflows
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary teams
• Comfort with hospital equipment and safety/precaution protocols
