Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and Telemetry settings
• Communicate clinical changes and diagnostic results clearly to physicians and the care team
• Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient condition and treatment response
• Teach and guide patients and families about care plans, medications and follow-up
• Direct and support other nursing personnel while maintaining professional standards
• Follow EMTALA regulations and report suspected child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality and accurate documentation in EPIC

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license (required)
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
• NRP and DCI/BVP certifications listed as required in credential set
• EDAP I and EDAP II completion (required)
• BVP (MAB) training (required)
• EPIC EMR experience (required)
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Experience in Emergency Department and telemetry care preferred

Education

• Current RN license required; graduation from an accredited nursing program (program completion documented by RN licensure is required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Direct patient care in ED and telemetry environments
• Emergency Department protocols and fast-paced triage skills
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• EMTALA regulations and reporting workflows
• Patient and family teaching techniques
• Proficiency using EPIC EMR for documentation and communication
