Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Provide direct bedside nursing care in the Emergency Department and Telemetry settings
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor telemetry to detect clinical changes
• Communicate critical findings and patient status updates to physicians and the care team
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans with compassion
• Direct and guide other nursing personnel while maintaining professional standards of care
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response
• Adhere to EMTALA regulations and report suspected child/adult abuse to appropriate resources
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality and accurate documentation in EPIC

Qualifications

• Current, valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• PALS certification (required)
• NRP certification (listed in required certifications)
• DCI/BVP training (listed as required)
• EDAP 1 and EDAP 2 completed (required)
• EPIC EMR experience (required)
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification (preferred)
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters (preferred)
• Ability to complete pre-employment health requirements: immunizations, TB test, drug screen and fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing and telemetry care skills
• Proficient patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
• Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting requirements
• Patient and family education techniques
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Telemetric monitoring and interpretation
