Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality emergency nursing care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and Telemetry as required
• Communicate patient condition changes and diagnostic results promptly to physicians and care team
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response
• Educate patients and families about conditions, care plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Follow EMTALA regulations and report suspected child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies
• Assist in directing and mentoring other nursing personnel and support staff during shifts

Qualifications

• Current and valid CA Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP required
• EDAP 1 and EDAP 2 completed
• BVP (MAB) / DCI training required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Demonstrated experience in emergency nursing and telemetry care preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Solid understanding and application of the nursing process
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with EMTALA regulations and abuse reporting procedures
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-acuity situations
• Patient/family education and teaching
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards
