Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and support daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity
• Monitor and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the care team
• Help with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention measures
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with nurses and families
• Support a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to care planning and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
• Active registration or certification valid for New York state
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus (preferred)
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and personal care
• Knowledge of basic infection control and resident safety practices
• Ability to observe, chart, and communicate resident status changes accurately
• Good time management and prioritization during busy shifts
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with older adults
