Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality direct nursing care to neonatal patients using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate)
• Monitor hemodynamics and clinical status closely, responding quickly and accurately to changes
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to communicate changes in condition and coordinate care
• Deliver patient- and family-centered education to support understanding and transition of care
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (Epic experience preferred)
• Supervise and guide other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care
• Participate in required competency testing, skills validation, and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license (state licensure required)
• Minimum 1 year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care or NICU experience preferred
• Current BLS required (AHA or Red Cross)
• Current ACLS required (AHA or Red Cross)
• Current NRP required
• PALS and DCI/BVP certifications as listed in the job requirements
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Float pool competency and prior charge nurse experience are a plus
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal assessment and specialized neonatal care practices
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of diagnostic data
• Care planning and implementation for critically ill infants
• Patient and family education with a focus on compassionate communication
• Critical care nursing principles and neonatal-specific interventions
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records and accurate documentation
