Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiovascular lab
• Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data continuously during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Assist physicians and the cardiovascular team during cardiac catheterization and related procedures
• Assess procedure room and equipment readiness; maintain supplies and inventory for cases
• Document patient condition and procedure details accurately in the EMR
• Perform equipment checks and help troubleshoot/maintain lab devices like GE MacLab
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes
• Communicate proactively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members about patient status

Qualifications

• Active state Registered Nurse (RN) license required; able to verify via Nursys
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS required upon hire and must be maintained
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area
• EPIC EMR experience required
• GE MacLab experience required
• Completion of required competency testing (rhythm interpretation, pharmacology, specialty/core competencies) as outlined
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings per facility requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Cardiac catheterization procedures and Cath Lab workflow
• Proficient use of EPIC EMR for documentation and order management
• Familiarity with GE MacLab systems and cardiovascular monitoring equipment
• Strong clinical assessment skills for adult and geriatric populations
• Basic rhythm interpretation and pharmacology knowledge
• Infection control practices and safe procedural techniques
• Team communication and the ability to support high-acuity procedural care
