Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized interventional radiology and cath lab nursing care for pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status using critical care principles and appropriate monitoring equipment
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Respond rapidly and professionally to on-call emergency cases during nights and weekends
• Maintain sterile technique, assist with procedural setup, and manage catheterization/circulatory support devices
• Perform thorough handoffs and accurate documentation to support continuity of care
• Participate in required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential (required)
• Experience in Interventional Radiology / Cath Lab required; background in ER or ICU/critical care preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certification/competency preferred or required per facility
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and rotating weekend coverage
• Willingness to complete required screenings and immunizations (drug screen, TB testing, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hep B, fit testing as listed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of cath lab/interventional radiology procedures and equipment
• Critical care assessment skills and the ability to prioritize rapidly
• Proficiency in monitoring hemodynamics and responding to acute changes
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient/family education skills
• Familiarity with sterile technique, infection control, and procedural setup
• Comfort with on-call workflow and emergency response protocols
