Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate critical care to assigned ICU patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Monitor and respond to hemodynamic changes and abnormal diagnostic results promptly and accurately
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians and the multidisciplinary team about patient status and care plans
• Deliver patient and family teaching to support recovery and safe transitions of care
• Direct and mentor other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care
• Float between ICU and telemetry to provide flexible, high-quality patient coverage
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality and documentation in accordance with facility policy
• Participate in required competency testing and skills validation to ensure clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Current, valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum of 1 year of staff RN experience in acute care/critical care
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications preferred
• Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Ability to complete required screenings: drug screen, TB testing, immunizations, fit testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care and ICU nursing knowledge, including hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care
• Experience with telemetry and critical care equipment
• Skilled in direct patient care and patient/family education
• Comfortable responding quickly to clinical changes and complex situations
• Familiarity with required competency exams and skills checklists
