Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients with respiratory insufficiencies and develop individualized care plans
• Manage and monitor ventilators and advanced respiratory support equipment
• Deliver advanced respiratory care modalities and adjust treatment based on patient response
• Document patient condition, treatments, and progress clearly and timely
• Respond as a member of the emergency resuscitation/code team when needed
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and available community support
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate outcomes and optimize care

Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license/certification (state license verification required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• PALS, ACLS, NRP and DCI/BVP certifications (listed as required by the unit)
• Successful completion of drug screen, TB/PPD requirements, and required immunizations
• Fit test and any facility-specific screenings completed prior to start
• Previous acute care or hospital respiratory therapy experience preferred (travel experience a plus)

Knowledge & Skills

• Respiratory assessment and patient monitoring expertise
• Ventilator management and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with advanced respiratory care modalities and medication administration
• Strong documentation and clinical decision-making abilities
• Comfort responding to emergency codes and participating in resuscitation
• Patient and family education and community resource referral experience
• Infection control and vaccination compliance knowledge
