Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced, evidence-based neonatal care across four Level-III NICUs
- Manage high-acuity ventilator strategies including high-frequency ventilation and iNO therapy
- Implement total body cooling protocols for infants with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy
- Coordinate and participate in neonatal transport and emergency stabilization
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists and pediatric subspecialists to optimize outcomes
- Rotate through multiple sites and shifts to ensure consistent 24/7 neonatal coverage
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives and mentor team members
- Communicate compassionately with families and support them through the NICU journey
Qualifications
- Neonatal advanced practice experience (NNP or equivalent neonatal NP practice experience)
- Demonstrated NICU experience in a Level-III setting with ventilator and critical care skills
- Experience with neonatal transport, emergency stabilization and multi-site rotations
- Comfort managing high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) and total body cooling
- Strong teamwork and collaboration with neonatologists and pediatric subspecialists
- Committed to mentorship, continuous quality improvement and family-centered care
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.; position is not open to visa candidates and not accepting locum tenens applicants
Education
- Advanced practice nursing degree (e.g., MSN, DNP) or post-master’s NP preparation preferred
- Neonatal-focused training/certification or equivalent clinical experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep knowledge of NICU clinical care and advanced neonatal interventions
- Skill in ventilator management, including jet and oscillator high-frequency modes
- Familiarity with inhaled nitric oxide therapy and therapeutic hypothermia protocols
- Ability to perform emergency stabilization and coordinate neonatal transports
- Strong communication, family-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Experience with continuous quality improvement and staff mentorship
