Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure all instruments and supplies are sterile and ready
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Maintain and monitor the sterile field to support patient safety
• Inspect and manage surgical instruments and equipment before and after cases
• Document case supplies and assist with room turnover to keep the schedule moving
• Communicate clearly with nurses, surgeons, and support staff to ensure seamless care

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or completion of an accredited surgical tech program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
• Prior OR experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training are welcome to apply
• Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain required credentials for Washington
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to sterile technique and patient safety

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of operating room protocols and sterile technique
• Familiarity with surgical instruments, trays, and common procedural setups
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work calmly in fast-paced environments
• Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams
• Basic documentation skills and the ability to follow OR checklists and procedures
