Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist on spine procedures including fusions and ALIFs, maintaining strict sterile technique
• Provide expert instrumentation and setup for total joint replacements and other orthopedic cases
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care
• Document procedures and perioperative details accurately in Meditech EMR
• Anticipate needs during cases and ensure a safe surgical environment for every patient
• Participate in unit call rotation and support flexible scheduling to meet patient volume
• Maintain and organize sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for spine and joint cases

Qualifications

• Active CST credential required
• Current DORA and NBSTA certifications — candidates without these will not be considered
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience, with spine and joint scrub experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for perioperative documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to call requirements, and stay flexible with schedules
• Basic life support (BLS) required; additional certifications a plus

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent and CST certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of spine and joint surgical instruments, implants, and procedure flow
• Strong sterile technique and infection control practices
• Proficient perioperative documentation and charting in Meditech
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced OR environment
• Ability to prioritize, anticipate surgeon needs, and handle complex cases calmly
